Eating Disorders
Eating disorders exist in three types including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge-eating disorder. Anorexia occurs in approximately 0.6 percept of adults, bulimia occurs in approximately 1 percent of adults, and binge eating disorder occurs in approximately 2.8 percent of adults. Woman are much more likely to develop an eating disorders and up to three times more likely to experience anorexia and bulimia. Woman are also 75 percent more likely to have a binge eating disorder. People suffering from anorexia display a higher mortality rate and are at increased risk for health problems.
